  • the most interesting place ive ever lived. If you can get inside the gate, the close is the best spot in Chelsea. Very calming and friendly. I lived in the building on 10th ave that has been turned into a hotel. I cant speak for what having a hotel on campus has done for the seminary but if its anything like it was its the place to be. Also worked the front desk and mailroom here. Its just a fun community to be a part of.

There are two professors here that have inspired me and deeply improved my academic credibility, Silver and McPherson, two them I am forever grateful.

To General Seminary I am anything but grateful. As a Christian, who practices Ignatian Spirituality, I have felt at home in many denominations. This was and is not the case with General. It was clear from the very first day that other Christian denominations are not encouraged and their spirituality is irrelevant and best left at the door. I say to any other Christians that might be brave enough to attend here, you are better served at Fordham University were you will be encouraged and appreciated. The ironic reality that Fordham University as a Jesuit and therefore an interdenominational supportive institution is an affiliate to this prejudiced place makes me take steps to question their relationship. General Seminary does nothing to merit a friendship with enlightened institute like Fordham University.

One final and very important fact: Do not come here without appropriate backing. The management here is cruel and you will get no sympathy. The bottom line here is to pay up or get out.

Please be wary of this institution.

  • Such a beautiful block in Chelsea - the trees, the calm. Check it out. And if you can get in - all the better.
